Career Webinars for Graduates

Ready to embark on a career search? Need some helpful tips? Career Services now has provided access for graduates and graduates-to-be to webinars that feature nine career authors and experts who will share the latest information and techniques. For the list of presenters and topics, with webinar dates and links to viewing the webinars, go to the Job Search Resources page.

Message from the Director

Getting your first "real" job is no easy task. Moving out into the world can be intimidating. The student development staff is here to ease the stress and help you prepare for the search. The first step, of course, is to arm yourself with an awesome resume. Learning how to market yourself is vital. The director of career services will meet with you to edit your resume to help sell your skills and stand out to employers.

This is only the beginning of what career services at SAU can offer you. Mock interviews, online job listings, job search packets, annual salary surveys and a listening ear are just a few opportunities available.

Career Services also offers a variety of information on graduate and professional schools, as well as internship opportunities to give you a taste of your future career. The Backpack-to-Briefcase program gives you the opportunity to job shadow an SAU alum or friend in the field you are considering.

All these services will arm you with the information you need to make the right decisions beyond SAU. And remember, it won't guarantee you a job, but it will point you in the right direction.

John Beck,
Director of Career Services and Academic Advising
