Welcome to the Office of Intercultural Relations
The Office of Intercultural Relations (OIR) located in Student Development and Learning serves as a resource center for the SAU community where all are welcome to explore and appreciate the uniqueness of multiethnic/multiracial people. One of the major components of our office is to assist students who are traditionally underrepresented and underserved in higher education. While our overarching goal is to actively engage our campus community in critical cultural conversations addressing issues of race and ethnicity.
The theme for this year is: Breaking Cultural Barriers with Kingdom Principles
OIR Mission: The Office of Intercultural Relations seeks to meet the multicultural, spiritual, academic, and social growth needs of all students by uniting hands, mending hearts, and challenging minds. As an office we help to shine light on those issues that some people have become blinded to as a result of learned stereotypes. The Office of Intercultural Relations also serves the university by providing various opportunities for our community to become more unified as a body of Christ. This can be achieved in part by involvement in one or more of our many organizations, which include Gospel Choir, AMP, ISU, TCK, and Queens of the King.
