We are greatly anticipating another great Homecoming and Family Weekend this year, October 7-8, on Spring Arbor University's main campus! We have planned an assortment of activities to cater to the entire family, plus, we are excited to unveil our recently constructed soccer complex! We invite you back to campus to reflect and reconnect with alumni and friends on this exciting homecoming weekend!

6:00 p.m. | Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet

Kresge Student Center, Ralph Carey Forum

The Spring Arbor University Athletic Hall of Fame is dedicated to the memory of Clarence and Agnes Delamarter, with thanksgiving for their commitment to the cause of Christian higher education.

Established in 1996, the Hall of Fame seeks to recognize Spring Arbor University individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics and contributed to society in a positive way after leaving college. Membership is awarded for athletic performance at Spring Arbor University, coaching or administrative accomplishments, or meritorious service.

The 2011 inductees are:

  • Charlie Carey 
  • Kim (Southworth ’85) DeYoung   
  • Jason Elder ’00

10:00 a.m. | Family/Student Brunch and Campus Update with President Webb

We encourage you to take advantage of this event which has been designed with you in mind. It is our desire to make your family’s SAU experience both enjoyable and memorable. All family members are welcome to attend.

10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. | SAU Spirit Tent

Adjacent to the Fieldhouse

Come enjoy a picnic lunch, shop for SAU keepsakes in the mobile Bookcellar and meet fellow classmates and students.

Join us for a picnic lunch of a hot dog or hamburger, chips, dessert and a beverage from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. | Kids’ Carnival

Ralph G. Walker Track

 Family fun for all ages at our Kids’ Carnival! Join our balloon artist, John Whitehead, from 12-3 p.m. adjacent to the track.

10:30 a.m. | 5K, 2 Mile Walk & Kids' Fun Run

Enjoy a tour of the campus and earn a T-shirt as well! Sign up for the 5K run or the 2-mile walk. These two events will start from the Voller House, the President’s home at 218 W. Arbor Heights. The kids’ half-mile fun run will take place on the Ralph G. Walker Track adjacent to the Fieldhouse immediately following the adults’ 5K run.

Sabbatical exhibition of Brian Shaw, associate professor of art, featuring paintings, drawings, photographs and designs related to the village of Port Isaac in Cornwall, England.

12 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. | Class of 1971 40th Year Reunion

"Will Huge U.S. Government Deficits Lead to World Financial Destruction?”

 The panel consists of Randall Lewis and Vilma Edginton, professors of finance; Gary Britten, professor of business law; and Greg Kaufinger, professor of accounting.

The SAU School of Education invites all alumni to its annual homecoming open house. Linda Sherrill, dean of the School of Education, as well as faculty and staff, will be there to meet and greet SOE alumni, parents and students.
