Steps to Enroll at SAU online

We are here to help you as you apply for an SAU online program. Start here. You'll find our enrollment process clear and you'll get results from your regional site quickly. In three steps, you'll be on your way to getting your advanced degree.

The Application Process

The application process for our online programs is simple and easy. Get started below:

  1. Submit the application: Applying online is the fastest way to get started on your degree. Each program has its own application form. Be sure to fill out the form that corresponds to your program.
  2. Send us your college transcripts: Simply contact each school you have attended and ask them to send us your transcripts.
  3. Submit two letters of recommendation: We’ll need at least two recommendations (some programs require more and some have a specific form for submitting recommendations). They should be at least one page and no longer than two in length.
  4. Complete the program-specific admission requirements. Each program may have it own set of admission requirements in addition to those listed above. See the admission requirements under your program of choice to learn more.

Apply for Financial Aid

Financial aid at SAU is simple and easy. It boils down to three easy steps:

  • Fill out FAFSA: FAFSA is the free application for federal student aid. It is the federal form that will determine what aid is available for you. It usually takes about two hours to fill out, but it is the essential first step to getting aid. After completing the FAFSA, our financial aid office will put together a custom financial aid package which will include federal and state grants, federal and state loan options and SAU institutional awards, if applicable.
  • Apply for loans: We will be able to provide you options for low-interest federal and state loans for higher education after you complete your FAFSA. Your admissions reps, as well as the financial aid office, can assist you with this. You will find out which loans are available to you when your FAFSA report comes back.
  • Apply for grants: Every year, there is over one billion dollars of unclaimed grant money for college students. You will find out which grants are available to you when your FAFSA report comes back.

Register For Class

Once you have received an acceptance letter and financial aid package, the next step is to register for class. You will be able to do this with your admissions specialist, who will help customize a graduation plan for you to begin with the end in mind and see your graduation date ahead of you.
