The Master of Arts in Family Studies (MAFS) is an interdisciplinary degree requiring 32 credit hours. The program combines conventional academic instruction with applied program development to prepare students for careers involving non-therapeutic intervention strategies with families and individuals. The curriculum is formatted to be completed in four-hour sessions one night per week. The MAFS is designed to be completed by a cohort group that begins and ends coursework together. This group format is intended to facilitate learning and provide support for all members of the group.

Theoretical and conceptual family life foundations are studied in an environment that embraces Christ as the center of learning and emphasizes the strengths and potential of all families. The curriculum covers such topics as family studies methodologies, human sexuality, research methods, cultural issues, ethics, mental illness, group dynamics that are taught from a Christian perspective.
