Beyond the goals of the Christian perspective in the liberal arts curriculum, the teacher certification program seeks to give its students a grasp of key concepts and skills of teaching, based on psychological and sociological principles applied to the theory and practice of educational techniques.
Through the School of Education (SOE), students can obtain teaching certification through three routes: as an undergraduate student at the main campus in Spring Arbor University, as an undergraduate student at various off-site campuses located throughout Michigan, or as a post-baccalaureate student looking to earn their teaching certificate (offered at the main campus, as well as various off-site campuses).
