Welcome to the Gainey School of Business

Jim CoeAs dean of the Gainey School of Business, I warmly welcome you to Spring Arbor University. Our goal is to equip you to serve as outstanding leaders and managers in the business arena.

Our undergraduate students grow through challenging courses that prepare them to become successful entrepreneurs and business managers.  Graduate-level opportunities include the SAU Online MBA program with a residency program in New York City or the more traditional, face-to-face MBA program. We are working hand-in-hand with local leaders to share our business expertise with the Jackson community, and we are striving to improve economic and social conditions for our neighbors.

The students in the Gainey School of Business experience a wide range of opportunities to influence the world through the SAU Student Investment Group, management projects, marketing projects and networking.  With the C.P. Federal Credit Union Trading Center, an award-winning SIFE team, and many other accomplishments, the future looks bright for the Gainey School of Business.  In the future, we plan to continually enhance the high quality and continuous improvement of the education offered to our outstanding business students.  Our students will be prepared to enter the ever-changing environment of global economic forces, cultural diversity and evolving technology.

I encourage all Gainey School of Business students to do their best. I echo Paul’s advice to the Christians in Ephesus, “Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk – not as unwise people, but as wise – making the most of the time, because the days are evil.”(Eph 5:15-16, NIV). May the Lord bless your time here at the university in your studies, in your relationship with Him and in your interactions with others.

Dr. James Coe
Dean, Gainey School of Business
