- Vice President for University Development - Michigan State University (MSU), 1995 – 2008
The Vice President for Development, a university officer of MSU, is responsible for fundraising programs and generating private sector support for the university. University Development has the responsibility to develop and implement all fundraising plans. It conducts annual giving programs, corporate and foundation programs, major and planned giving programs, special campaigns and coordinates all fundraising programs with colleges, departments and schools. It has an annual operating budget of $19.6 million and a staff of 175 full-time people, 200 part-time student employees as well as a 60 volunteer member board for The Campaign for MSU. In fiscal year 2006-07, MSU raised in excess of $168.9 million in cash and planned gifts. Overall results were up 15.4 percent over the previous fiscal year and current gifts rose 28.8 percent. MSU exceeded its $1.2 billion campaign goal 15 months ahead of schedule. A total of $1,438,894,789 was raised between July 1, 1999, and September 30, 2007.
