Dawn Welch

Senior Admissions Specialist – Lansing site

Hometown: Saint Johns.

Education: After serving as a police officer in the U.S. Army, my heart for helping others led me to Spring Arbor University.  Earning my bachelor’s degree in family life education gave me the tools to empower and educate others.  Soon after that, the realization that my desire to help could be assisted by an understanding of the ‘business side of the house’ prompted me to earn the Master of Science in Management, also at Spring Arbor University. As a member of the National Council on Family Relations, I maintain my CFLE – Certified Family Life Educator Designation. In 2012 I became a Certified MBTI Practitioner, which allows me to encourage/see growth in students as an instructor. Believing that learning is lifelong, I am pondering the options for my next educational path!

Interests: I love spending time with my two brilliant daughters and my amazing husband, traveling to places near and far, reading, singing, writing and brain teasers.

Testimony:  I have learned that even though I may not always comprehend, there is a greater plan for my life – one that I am not the author of. As a child of God, daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend, my journey thus far has been eventful. I have seen the power of the Lord working though me and through others; I truly believe that our purpose is to love and serve one another, and Proverbs 3:5-6 guides my steps

Statement of Purpose: When a student leaves my office filled with excitement and hope about beginning a new program – a new journey – I think, “this is why I am here!” – to listen and to guide.

Alonda TerrellAdmission Cards-14

Admissions Specialist – Lansing site

Hometown: Albion, Mich.

Education:  I graduated from Albion College in May of 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Interests: I love spending time with my daughter and hanging out with family and friends. I enjoy singing, shopping, hair styling, watching movies, and eating out.

Testimony: Being the daughter of a minister and missionary, I grew up knowing who God was, but now have a newly found relationship with him. I know him to be faithful, gracious, loving, patient, and everything else that is righteous. God has shown me that His timing may not be my timing, but His timing is the right timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thine ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” I thank God for being so good and merciful to me even when I didn’t deserve it. I have learned that if you seek God first and his righteousness, all things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33).

Statement of Purpose: God wants to use me to be a living witness of who He is and what He can do. Throughout the calling of my purpose, I have learned that I have a passion for helping people in some way. My reason for doing what I do is to help people realize that they can have a growing relationship with Christ, during their educational journey.
