To welcome students back to campus, Spring Arbor University plans the annual Welcome Back Bash featuring the Rhett Walker Band with opener Luke Cyrus, on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 8:00 p.m. on the University Plaza. This event is free to all SAU students, faculty and staff, and $10 in advance or $15 at the gate for all others.
The Rhett Walker Band is a Christian alternative Southern rock band based out of Nashville, Tenn. The group is fronted by Rhett Walker (the son of a preacher), who handles the lead vocals and most of the songwriting, with Kenny Davis on drums and Joe Kane on guitar. The band formed in Nashville in 2011 and released a debut album, “Come to the River,” on Essential Records in July of 2012.
Artists like Shawn McDonald, Sanctus Real, Everyday Sunday, and local band Like Jonathan, have been featured at the Welcome Back Bash in recent years.
