SAU announces Undergraduate Research Symposium

Spring Arbor University announces an Undergraduate Research Symposium, hosted by the student tutors of the university Writing Center. The symposium is a call for papers and projects by undergraduate students.

Provost Kimberly Rupert believes the symposium is an undertaking worth supporting.

“The satisfaction of a genuine personal accomplishment such as this is multiplied when it can be shared,” Rupert said, “Whether in presentation, in sparking an idea in another, in a concrete outcome, or simply in recognition of the next step to pursue.”

The first place paper or presentation will be awarded $100. Second place will receive $60 and third place will receive $40.

Eligible submissions include papers that are 8 – 10 pages in length, and 15-minute presentations. Entries from all disciplines are welcome, and submissions are due February 21, 2014. Submissions must be original work by Spring Arbor University students. The schedule for announcing winners has not yet been determined.
