It is a transformational journey that goes to the heart of effective health care leadership, fusing together leadership and faith development activities within its curriculum.

Program Strengths and Emphases

Recognizing the growing trends in health care, the RN-MSN program has incorporated three specialty area options within the program content:

  •  RN-MSN/MBA
  •  RN-MSN/Nurse Practitioner
  •  RN-MSN/Ed

The specialty area options provide an opportunity to select a plan of study that blends future career direction with present personal and professional expertise. A specialty focus promotes career advancement in present work environments while providing a foundation for graduate studies or specialty certification.

RN-MSN/MBA

As a student of this advanced nursing administration program, you will learn fiscal and management theories, and how to oversee clinical operations, expand services and establish policies and procedures that ensure the best patient care possible. You will then choose one of six MBA concentrations designed to propel you into leadership in your sphere of influence with wisdom and integrity. Additionally, upon graduation, you will be qualified to teach both nursing and business.

RN-MSN/Nurse Practitioner

Students in this area can choose from two tracks, RN-MSN/FNP (Family nurse practitioners) who provide primary care to patients throughout their lives, and RN-MSN/AGPCNP (Adult-gerontology nurse practitioners) who specialize in primary care for patients ranging from 12 years of age through the end of life. Much emphasis is placed on evidence-based research, clinical practice and the societal factors that affect quality care.

RN-MSN/Ed

Upon completion of this online program, you can go on to work as an instructor in academic settings, or as a staff development officer or clinical supervisor in a hospital. It’s an ideal career for nurses who want a high level of autonomy and flexibility, as well as increased opportunities to supplement income through consultation, faculty practice, teaching workshops and professional presentations.
