Hometown: Kalamazoo, MI
Education: I graduated from Spring Arbor University in May of 2017 with a degree in Health and Exercise Science.
Interests: I enjoy spending time with friends and family especially when it involves being outdoors and eating food. I am blessed to live on a lake so in the summers I look forward to soaking up the sun out on the water. Coffee is another avenue I use as an excuse to hang out with friends exploring new and unique coffee shops, although I am not usually adventurous with my cup of Joe I find the atmosphere just as addicting as the caffeine.
Testimony: My faith started out being demonstrated by the day by day example of my Christ-centered family. I was blessed to grow up in Christian camping, constantly being surrounded by examples of godly, enthusiastic college students and fulltime staff that worked with my parents. I never questioned my faith but watched it grow as I was stretched outside of my comfort zone when I moved 13 hours away from home my freshman year of college and finally made my faith my own. After the Lord opened an opportunity to transfer to Spring Arbor University, I not only settled into my higher education career but I also connected my faith with community alongside my new campus Christian family. I attribute the strength of my faith to my family’s example, my college community, and working at Gull Lake Ministries for five summers during my college experience. As a Christian, I work every day to love God and others. I strive to radiate Christ inwardly and outwardly, worshiping Him joyfully.
Statement of Purpose: I believe as Christ followers, our life should be purpose driven in bringing the Kingdom of God to Earth. I am dedicated to loving God with all my heart, mind and soul. The Christian liberal arts serve as an avenue for Christ followers to practice their faith in an educational environment and thus my purpose follows my passion for helping students explore their future in higher education. As I stated above, following Christ is a daily choice that I have never looked back on but look to the future with excitement ready to serve.
