What advice would you give someone looking to go back to school?
Having been a non-traditional student when I completed my master’s degree, I know how challenging it can be to find that balance between family, work and returning to school. I would advise anyone considering returning to school to just jump right in and get started. I know that I put it off for a few years and I wish I would have started sooner as I would have finished sooner.
Why Spring Arbor University?
I think one of the things that makes Spring Arbor different from many other schools is the personal attention we strive to give our students. Students receive personal attention because classes are kept small. As a not-for-profit Christian school, we are dedicated to providing an outstanding education at a great value, not trying to turn a profit.

Education: I graduated from Spring Arbor University in 2004 with an individualized degree in Communication in Ministry and a concentration in Global Studies.
Interests: I love adventure! Whether that is in the form of my physical activities or my walk with Jesus, I love to explore and experience adventure. I enjoy hiking, running, traveling, baking, cooking, creating, and dreaming. I’m also passionate about mountains and exploring beautiful places.
Faith statement: As the daughter of a Free Methodist pastor, I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. I asked Jesus into my heart when I was five, and have grown in both my knowledge and understanding of what that really means. I deepened my commitment and walk with God at various points throughout my life, but God really began a new work in my heart in 2006. I encountered a major breaking point in my life, and God invited me on a journey to pursue Him like never before. I accepted, and I’m happy to say I’ve never been the same! I have truly experienced the transforming power of the love and presence of God.
Statement of purpose: I am passionate about helping others pursue their dreams and reach their potential, and I believe there is no better place to begin the journey than with the experience and education offered at a Christian university. I have always been drawn to the excitement and possibility that surround the college years. In fact, as soon as my older siblings began receiving college catalogs in the mail (when I was in the 4th and 5th grades), I spent hours looking through them and figuring out my four-year plan for each of my degree interests. Choosing a college can be a exciting, yet overwhelming experience, but I believe SAU has an amazing amount of opportunity to offer you.
