Many new faces filled SAU’s campus during this year’s Welcome Week. Dedicated student leaders and staff came together to show new students their support and help them start their SAU journeys. Together, they brought life into the residence halls, kicked off a year of COL 100 adventures and started building countless relationships.
Incoming students officially joined the SAU community during the annual Parting at the Plaza ceremony. The Welcome Week days to follow held a number of events for new and returning students alike, including Java & Jumpshots, Operation Community, a worship night led by chapel band, the SAU Lo-down, ice cream with President Ellis and Arbor Nights — a beginning-of-the-year celebration around the Oak Tree.
This year’s freshman class included 42 students whose parents or grandparents attended SAU. Additionally, 39 freshmen have siblings that attended or are currently enrolled at SAU.
Adjusting to college life can be difficult — but, each year, SAU continues to make the transition easier for new students through Welcome Week activities. Within the SAU community, new students are encouraged and supported as they embark on journeys of academic, spiritual and personal growth.
