Spring Arbor University (SAU) invites you to attend the dedications of the newly renovated and restored Ralph G. Walker Memorial Track & Field Complex and the new, state-of-the-art Weatherwax Microbiology Lab during SAU’s Homecoming weekend, Sept. 29-30.
The Track Complex dedication ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30. The new complex is located near the SAU Fieldhouse on 2nd St.
The lead gift for the Track Complex was generously provided by the Martin D. and Mary J. Walker Charitable Foundation. The new facilities feature long jump, triple jump and pole vault runways and pits, and a combined hammer- and discuss-throwing cage. This first throwing cage on SAU’s Spring Arbor campus will greatly benefit the growing number of throwing athletes.
The Weatherwax Microbiology Lab dedication will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. The new lab is located in the Whiteman-Gibbs Science Center.
Due to the generosity of the Weatherwax Foundation, the new-and-improved Weatherwax Microbiology Lab will add to the existing high quality of the science and nursing programs at SAU. This remodel is intended to become the impetus for future renovations to the entire Whiteman-Gibbs Science Center.
