Spring Semester Chapel Plans

Chapel Singer

As the Spring term begins at SAU, so will Chapel programming! This semester, we anticipate moving toward a face-to-face option for gathering in Chapel.

Starting Monday, Feb. 1, at 10:10 a.m., Chapel will return to campus in its virtual form. Beginning on Monday, March 8, SAU plans to move Chapel to the auditorium at the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church.

Here are the essentials for these gatherings:

  1. Social Distancing and wearing masks will be required.
  2. Chapel band will play a full set for worship.
  3. There will be a mix of live and remote speakers.
  4. Seating limited to COVID standards (we will use Signup Genius to register and monitor those limits each week).

SAU is thankful for everyone’s flexibility through the fall, joining live on Mondays through live stream, gathering in small watch parties, and incorporating our outdoor and Facebook live worship times into busy schedules. Chapel is a critical element of SAU’s identity on campus as the place for gathering to worship, hear a message and strengthen our sense of community.

While attendance is not required for the remainder of the 20-21 academic year, participation is strongly encouraged. If you have questions about chapel programming, they can be directed to University Chaplain Brian Kono at bkono@arbor.edu.
