Beth McDonald ’38, ’43 (1920-2022)

SAU Employee (1966-1985)

Beth attended Spring Arbor University for two years, graduated from Greenville College in 1945, and then immediately began teaching at the Free Methodist Wessington Springs Junior College in South Dakota. She continued her education by taking summer classes at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for many years, eventually receiving two master’s degrees, one in history and one in English literature. After 11 years of teaching in Wessington Springs she moved to Spring Arbor, Michigan where she taught at Spring Arbor University, with particular interest in Shakespeare and Milton, until her retirement in 1985. She is remembered for her dedication and enthusiasm in teaching and genuine love for all her students, with special attention to international students. Her life was characterized by wholehearted devotion to her Savior, Jesus Christ.
