Julius Buzzard

Julius Buzzard ’13 graduated from Spring Arbor University as a youth ministry major in 2013. As a student, he was involved in everything at SAU. He served as a Peer Advisor and Spiritual Life Advisor and was involved with the Office of Intercultural Relations, working especially with African American male students.

Upon graduation from SAU, Julius entered into an intensive leadership program at Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor. At the time, he was working as an After School Specialist for the Ann Arbor Learning Community. Julius’s plans changed when he was selected for a highly competitive Teach for America summer school position.  At the end of the summer, he returned to Vineyard Church, where he served as the Welcome, Outreach, and College Director before assuming the role of Executive Director.

Currently, Julius and his wife, Mary (Jordan ’16) Buzzard, work as Family Teachers at Mooseheart Child City & School outside of Chicago, Illinois, where they provide a loving and encouraging home environment for 10 at-risk youth while teaching social and independent living skills.

Julius is a marathon runner and is very active in his church and community.
