Bio

Dr. Carolyn Watson holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Andrews University, which is located in Berrien Springs, MI. Her research interests include investigating how mentorships can assist universities in creating a culture of support and excellent among adjunct faculty members. She joined the faculty of Spring Arbor University in the fall of 1999 as the East Region’s Coordinator of Faculty Services and later was promoted to the Director of Instructional Support. She currently serves as the Coordinator of Faculty Services for Graduate Nursing Programs in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. She has taught a variety of courses including adult development, organizational development, organizational behavior, human resource management, leadership, research writing, research methods, and statistics. She works as an organizational consultant and serves on the leadership board of her church. She and her husband, Rick, also a SAU adjunct family member, co-lead a small connect group as well.

Carolyn and Rick live in Dearborn, Michigan. She has two stepsons, Derrick and Christopher. The apple of her eyes; however, are her  two granddaughters, Harper and Avery. She often ponders the mystery of how an imperfect son and daughter-in-law produced the two most perfect children in the world! She also enjoys reading, teaching, drama, and traveling. As a precious child of God, she marvels at the mystery of Emmanuel, God with us. Her life verse can be found in Isaiah 57:15, God “lives in a high and holy place and with those who are humble and contrite in spirit.”
