Lisa Marquette
Assistant Professor of Social WorkBio
I have lived and worked in southeast Michigan most of my career, but most recently in Ohio. I am the lead faculty for the Metro Toledo Global site. I’ve been a social worker for almost 20 years and there is not anything else I would want to do! I’ve worked in a variety of settings with a variety of populations. I have taught social work at SAU since 2014, and thoroughly enjoy it. I am licensed in both Michigan and Ohio. In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends. |
Why SAU
My Christian faith has definitely played a part in choosing social work, or it choosing me. I’ve always wanted to help improve others’ lives as I’ve been blessed. Jesus Christ is the perspective for learning, personally and professionally and that drew me to Spring Arbor. I believe in SAU’s concept and know that social work values and Biblical values match up. I’m a firm believer in personal growth and self-development so we can be effective as professionals, and the best we can be – emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually. As Christian social workers, we are in an unique position to affect change in all areas of someone’s life!
