Introducing: The SAU Student Blog

Hey Cougars! We hope you are all settling into the new school year well. This year, we decided it was time to start a student-led blog! The blog will be focused on everything student life – from campus events, local things to do, tips, and everything and anything in between. We want our blog to be a place where current students and future ones can come and gain insight into what goes on at SAU. We will be posting a new article every Tuesday to the website, you can also find the link to the most recent article on our Instagram account (@springarboru), so stay tuned!

We have an amazing group of student writers, you can find out more information on them all below. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to slide into our Instagram DM’s @springarboru or send Blair an email at blair.currie@arbor.edu.

Meet Your Writers

Mia Adkins

Mia Adkins

Hey guys! My name is Mia Adkins and I am from Adrian, MI. I am a senior studying Video/Film Production and Advertisement. I enjoy music, art, and film and outside of school you can find me at Musgrove + Company in Jackson. Like a lot of seniors, I am not positive on what my plans post graduation will look like exactly but am excited to see what the future has. I hope to share about some of the things I love around campus as well as around Spring Arbor.

Aubre Cashman-Brown

Hello! My name is Aubre, I am a senior Psychology major from Deckerville, Michigan. I am on the Competitive Cheer team here at Spring Arbor. I love going on spontaneous trips, reading, longboarding and going on walks with my dog Oaklee. A fun fact about me is that I can do an incredibly accurate goat impression. I’m excited to share some things I wish I knew before venturing through college with you all, and possibly some good book recommendations!

Bella Chirco

Bella Chirco

Hi guys! My name is Bella, and I am from Washington Twp, MI. I am a senior here studying Psychology with a minor in Art! I also throw on the track and field team. After I graduate, I plan on going to grad school to further my studies in psychology, possibly with a concentration on play therapy or art therapy. Some of my favorite things that have come from SAU are my friends and the throwing team, so I would love to talk about how Spring Arbor has furthered these relationships. I also love exploring and taking pictures, so I will be sharing my favorite spots around campus and the city of Jackson!

Blair Currie

Hey everyone! I’m Blair Currie, a junior from Christchurch, New Zealand. I major in digital communications and marketing while also being on the women’s soccer team. When I’m not over at the soccer field, you can usually find me in the library ordering an iced caramel latte (basic I know) from Sacred Grounds. I love all things sports and I especially love the DC brownies. Being so far away from home, the community we have at SAU is something I greatly appreciate. My blogs will be a mix of covering sporting events, student spotlights and general student life. Go Cougs!

Francis Kwashie

Francis Kwashie

What’s up guys! I’m Francis Kwashie and I’m a senior finance major with a minor in marketing. I was born in Accra, Ghana but raised in Toronto, Canada. A fun fact about me is that I like to tell people that I’m from Hudsonville, Michigan. Another fun fact about me is that I am easily the best at pickleball in the Marketing & Communications Department and possibly the entire campus. It is my second year working in the Marketing office and my blogs will most likely be about sports, faith and what it’s like being aniInternational student.

Ryan Loganadhan

Hi my name is Ryan Loganadhan, I am a senior from Toronto, Ontario pursuing a business degree with a marketing minor. I also happen to play on the Men’s Tennis team here. What I appreciate most about Spring Arbor is how intentional students, residence life members, professors, and my coaches are. While it was a very last minute and unexpected decision to come to Spring Arbor, I can’t even imagine what my life would be like without it due to the lifelong friends I’ve gained, incredible memories, and most importantly my own spiritual growth.

My blogs will be on a variety of topics ranging from fun classes, college tips, and other random topics. Enjoy!

Will Urban

Howdy, I’m Will Urban! I am a senior Video/Film Production Major from Muskegon, MI. I work for the SAU Marketing Office, primarily editing videos and all of our Instagram Reels. Just this year, I started working for Almost Chapel as the videographer for all of our productions. I love playing pickleball in my free time, where I am typically crushed by my fiance. I love watching films, my favorite film being The Grand Budapest Hotel. Check in with my blog posts to get the scoop in the world of media!

Emma Van Buren

Hey! I’m Emma Van Buren, a senior Digital Communication & Marketing major from Blissfield, Michigan. I have been serving as the lead student photographer and visual design intern for our Marketing & Communication Office on campus for a little over 2 years. When I have free time, I love to travel to new places, play pickleball with friends (Francis isn’t that good by the way), and create new designs for my small business. If you ever see me out and about taking photos at an event, come say hi, I love meeting new people!
