SAU Spring Commencement Update

SAU Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that our in-person May commencement events have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to make this difficult decision in order to protect the health of students, their family members, faculty, staff, and the greater Spring Arbor community.

We know this is a great disappointment to many, especially our graduates and their families. Please know how deeply sorry we are that we will not be able to award diplomas in person this May. Commencement is perhaps the most cherished event in the life of the university and we understand how important this celebration is to our graduates and their guests. In the meantime, we hope our graduating students will remember that, even though the May ceremony is cancelled, this does not take away from your hard work and accomplishments. We are especially proud of our graduating students who have had to adapt to so many changes in their last semester!

We are inviting our May graduates to participate in our next scheduled Commencement on Saturday, November 14. Despite the cancellation of the May ceremony, their degrees will be conferred soon after they fulfill their graduation requirements, and their diplomas will be mailed to them.

We will look forward to celebrating our graduates on November 14.
