STEM STATS: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at SAU

For as long as SAU has awarded four-year degrees, our students have had opportunities to study STEM subjects within the context of the Christian liberal arts — and make powerful connections on campus and around the world. Find out more about STEM at SAU, by the numbers:

  • 47 percent of SAU students were enrolled in STEM programs at the beginning of the 2017-18 academic year.
  • 1,575 students were enrolled in STEM programs at the beginning of the 2017-18 academic year.
  • 95 percent of STEM graduates from the Class of 2017 are either employed or enrolled in graduate school programs.*
    SAU currently offers 31 STEM programs.
  • SAU awarded four-year STEM degrees for the first time in 1965.
  • 78 percent of SAU students in STEM programs are women.
  • 47 percent of SAU’s first class to graduate with four-year degrees (1965) studied STEM subjects.
  • SAU has awarded 4,311 STEM degrees since gaining university status in 2001.
