Transcript and Evaluation
Incoming freshman and transfer students must both submit their high school transcripts via a transcript evaluation service, like the World Education Service. Don’t know if you are a freshman or transfer student? Read the descriptions below and go to the appropriate page.
Incoming International Freshman Students
If you are a high school graduate entering Spring Arbor University as a first-time freshman we need your official high school transcript evaluated by the World Education Service (wes.org). (See the next section if you are a transfer student, which means you have attended university or taken any other kind of post-secondary courses).
If your transcript has been evaluated by another agency, please let us know the name. We will determine whether we can accept your evaluation from that agency.
If you attended an American high school abroad for all four years, you will not be required to submit an official evaluation through WES. If you are uncertain as to whether an evaluation is required, please contact our office at admissions@arbor.edu.
World Education Service (WES)
Please go to the WES website and complete the online application form to begin your transcript evaluation request. Spring Arbor University’s code number is 1732. Do NOT pay for the WES evaluation until you are certain that your documentation arrived and was received by WES. You may check with WES via email or telephone using your name and account reference number.
Carefully follow the instructions for submitting your documents. Requirements can vary by country. In most cases, you will need your high school to mail your official transcript directly to WES (not yourself) for the evaluation. Required documents for individual countries are listed here and an “academic transcript request form” can also be found on that page.
The transcript, if NOT in English, must first be translated from your native language into English. Then have the translation company send a ‘certified’ translation of your transcripts and diploma, together with your original transcripts and copy of your diploma, to WES. Be sure to include your WES reference number for tracking.
*If another authorized document service within the U.S. already authenticated your transcripts and diploma, please tell us the name of the company.
WES ICAP
Be sure to select the WES ICAP (International Credential Advantage Package) option that stores your verified transcripts and WES evaluation report. Academic institutions receive a package that contains your evaluation report together with copies of the academic transcripts that are stored at WES. Your transcript and evaluation are ready to be sent in one comprehensive package to any educational institution, at any time, even many years later. Begin here.
Incoming International Transfer Students
If you attended university or have taken other post-secondary courses either inside or outside the United States, you will likely enroll as a transfer student at Spring Arbor University. Students transferring from outside the United States are required to request that an official transcript(s) from each university or post-secondary school attended first be evaluated by the World Education Service (wes.org). If you currently are a high school graduate entering Spring Arbor University as a first-time freshman, see the above section. If you attended an American university, you are not required to submit an official evaluation through World Education Service (WES). Please use the WES ICAP option when submitting your transcripts.
If your transcript was previously evaluated by another agency, please let us know the name. We will determine whether we can accept that agency’s evaluation. If you are uncertain as to whether an evaluation is required, please contact our office at admissions@arbor.edu.
Transfer students who are participating in intercollegiate sports at SAU must also have their high school transcript evaluated by WES ICAP and an official copy of your high school transcript sent to Spring Arbor University.
