Fall 2020 Commencement Update
Due to current restrictions for large indoor and outdoor celebratory gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to cancel SAU’s Fall 2020 commencement on November 14, 2020. We are disappointed as we were very much looking forward to celebrating with all of our newest graduates.
To celebrate the great accomplishments of our graduates, we will be inviting all May 2020 and November 2020 graduates to our Spring 2021 ceremony, scheduled for May 15, 2021.
We ask all 2020 graduates to save this date and consider participating in our spring commencement. We will be communicating more details about this celebration in the months ahead. Additionally, we will be sending celebration boxes (with a diploma cover and a variety of other items) to all our 2020 graduates.
Class of 2021
We intend to celebrate your graduation at our Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Further details related to this celebration will be communicated to you in the coming months.
Class of 2020 FAQs
- Will there still be an in-person commencement held for the Class of 2020?
Yes. Spring Arbor University is planning to host an in-person commencement ceremony on May 15, 2021 to celebrate the Class of 2020. This ceremony is planned for the same day as the Class of 2021 commencement. At this time, we are tentatively planning to host the Class of 2020 ceremony separate from the Class of 2021 ceremony. Please note that the number of ceremonies will be determined based on the number of graduates from each class who plan to attend.
- When do I need to order my cap & gown?
In the coming months, further communication will be sent to all 2020 graduates with deadlines and other information for ordering your cap & gown for the May 2021 ceremony. You will not need to worry about the deadline until the early months of 2021.
- Do I need to confirm my attendance?
Yes. A few months prior to May 15, you will receive an email with a link to confirm your attendance. This link will also provide details regarding how many guests will be able to attend the ceremony on your behalf.
